Monetizing & Promoting your blog

By admin. Posted in Monetize, SEO, faq | No Comments »

Ok, so we get so many emails and questions regarding how do you monetize from your blog?

so we are going to give you a really quick and short version with some awesome helpful links where you can find some very cool widgets you can add to your blog.

Also don’t forget if you know of a cool widget that we haven’t added or a way to monetize from your blog, let us know about it.

  1. First golden rule POST!! POST!! POST!! I can not tell you enough how important it is for you to post and post and post. Come in atleast once a week and add a new post to your blog, doesnt have to be long, doesnt have to be deep and philosophical. But if you don’t post, then you wont have readers, and if you dont have readers, you can have all the ads and widgets in the world, but without readers there is noone to click them and there fore no money.
  2. Promote - Promote your blog, add a link to your face book, myspace, bebo etc. Tell your friends, join blog directories.. Promote your blog by submitting it to search engines.
    • Here are some cool links you can go to promote your blog.
      • http://pingomatic.com/ - send ping to large directories that you have a new post on your blog.
      • www.blogcatalog.com - a blogging directory - list of blogs online’
      • www.bloghub.com/ - another blog directory
      • www.blogdirs.com/
  3. Widgets - you can add custom widgets to your website easily. Go to your plugins page in the blog admin. You will see a plugin called “My Custom Widget” activate it.  Now go to design, in your blog admin and you will see a link called ” My Custom Widget” you can now create your own html widgets easily and add them to your page wherever you like.  To add a widget type a name for it and then click on the pencil. A box will appear. in that box put your custom html.  then click on the flash disk to save.  Now go to your widgets page and the new widget will automatically appear there. (under the name you just gave it. We will soon have tutorials soon.
  4. Some cool widgets to use are :

If you find any others let us know about them. We would love to try them out.

Now don’t forget the golden rule and that is ” In the end you can promote your blog to high heaven, but unless you post on a regular basis, your content gets old, and you will loose on PR. So keep it fresh, keep it interesting, dont bore your blog viewers with endless of pages of useless boring blogs, keep them interesting as if talking to a friend, and enjoy blogging. Thats the main one.”

So happy blogging everyone.

Once you log in to your Native Blogging Netowrk blog,  you will see four main links in the top of the page.

Those links are : Write  -  Manage  -   Design  -  Comments

To change the theme of your blog, click on the Design link.

Once you have clicked on Design, you will see a row of links appear underneath the tabs.

You should already be automatically taken to the theme page, but if not, click on the Themes Link.

You should now see 5 rows of themes, each row has 3 themes, with a small thumbnail of the theme, title and description.

This new version of wordpress now has a preview action. So you can now see your theme in action on your blog. To see a preview of the theme, click on the theme image, and a window will appear with a live preview of this theme in action.

at the top of this little window, you will see two links. One link on the left corner and another link on the right corner.

The link on the left corner says “Close”. Clicking on this link will close the little window and take you back to the theme directory page.

The link on the right corner says “Activate this theme”. If you like the theme preview and have decided that this is the theme for you, then click on that link. It will make that theme, the default for your blog.

We currently have over 95 themes in our directory and are constantly adding more themes, so don’t forget to go through all the pages of themes before making your choice.

Happy Templating everybody!!

Can I have a custom Theme?

By admin. Posted in faq | No Comments »

YES & No. We now do offer the option of giving our users custom themes.

But this option is not available to everybody. If you have made yourself a custom theme for your blog, you can submit it to us for review. When you submit your theme, you must provide your username and blog name.

We will then review your theme and look through your theme code for any possible security issues.

If it all seems to be in order, we will then upload your them to our user theme repository and activate to your blog.

What does all that mean? It means, we will activate it so it works only on your blog. So no other Native Blogging Network users can use your theme. Your theme will stay 100% unique to your blog only.

To submit your theme for review go to our submission page.

You can also use this form to submit your public themes as well.
