Ive been doing my search through the net, looking through every nook and cranny trying to find some indigenous musicians.. not just indigenous music, (and half the indigenous music found online arent even done by indigenous musicians). So where have all the native rock gods gone? has there been some eternal powwow that i wasnt told about, that has lured all our native rockers? Maybe someone has spiked the frybread, and our native rockers are in a hippy timewarp they cant escape from. Maybe a bunch of political conspirators kidnapped them and flew them to tanzania. the possibilities are endless. it might just be that our native rockers dont get enough support or opportunities to showcase their skills and therefore give up or never get public attention. whatever the reasons, im starting a sky planet petition, i want our rockers back. where have you all dissapeared too.. We want real music, real natives, really right now (lol..ok.. i couldnt think of another real thing, so i just wrote that). I spoke with some of our nativelandz staff, and we all agreed, we will have a music section in the native friends network, and we want to promote all indigenous artists.. especially you rockers out there, cause there just isnt enough you (thats just my personal opinion.). So if your an artist and want to promote your music, tell us about yourself. Take the nativelandz musician interview we have set out. promote yourself. We will even throw in some advertising all over the site if we have too.. So how can you do that? ok im keeping it nice and simple folks …. 1. Join the native friends network ( i know that at the time of this post, the network is not up yet cause we are upgrading the system, but it will be up in a few days.. i will take out this bit of the blog once its open, or sign up to our newsletter to be notified once its up and running) 2. Take the nativelandz musician interview. Your interview will appear in the native friends network, in the hoop magazine & nativelandz front page.. (how much more do you want??.. want my blog as well.. ?? hahaha.. you cant have it!!!, unless you impress me ..show me your stuff, send me your audio, or video.. then il do you a little plug) 3. Want even more exposure? Sure why not, add your site to the nativelandz links directory. 4. Want even more.. Ok let me see what i can pull out of the hat here..(after all i am pure magic).. Well if you guys do a short 20 - 30 second video or audio, introducing yourselves and say something about nativelandz, il put it all over the damn site.. (dont care what the rest of the staff say lol .. cause im that nice .. or not).. Il even try and put it on my “myspace” profile. Hows that ?? 5. Dont have a website to promote.. ?? Im that convinced that there are so many talented native musicians out there, that i have organized with my team of designers at cante waste designz, to build you a website. FOR FREE Your website can be anything like : http://bandname.nativelandz.net If you have your own server and domain name, we can put it up there for you as well.. we will make sure its first class designing, has all your info, and will even have an updates and gallery section so you can add your pics quickly and update your viewers with current news events etc. Your Website will have a flash animated intro with your song as background , it will have all your contact info, about you, news updates, flash gallery, media center etc.. We will even create banners and posters for you if you need them.. Want one??? then come get one!!! (due to many applications, cantewaste designs are reviewing them. I DARE YOU, Show me that there is still some sanity left in this world, Show there are still rockers out there.. (with or without flowers in their hair).. Give me hope for a better future .. I dont care if your indie, unsigned, signed, punk, alternative, rock, heavy, hardcore etc.. We just want to promote native music, and bring it back to the people.. haha, the question that kills every webmaster online.. What on earth can i do to the website to bring you people to me.. Do i have to dance on my head and do the hula in the nude or what!! Let me be completely honest.. The only way your website is ever going to get anywhere this day, is buy offering people what they want.. So step one is to find out what people want.. Try doing some research in your field, regarding what your site is about.. for example if your car is about 12 purple monkeys, try googling monkeys, purple monkeys, 12 monkeys, etc see what your competition websites offer.. then check their pr and see what they rate as. Compare those sites to yours, do they offer something you dont, etc. try adding surveys to your website, ask regular web visitors to take the time to take a short survey to assist you create a better website for them. Dont forget what your site is for. Many times when webmasters get obsessed with optimizing their websites to google, html, etc etc standards they completely forget what their website is there for. and if you dont know what its there for, then how will anyone else? Dont get stuck in the SEO rollercoaster ride. Google and all the large search engines will be forever changing. You will never keep up unless you have a team of dozens web developers on your team. Try and keep it simple, I love the feng shui philosophy of keeping things simple.. complicating everything too much will give people to much information at once. Remember The only way big sites make it online is by networking with other sites and companies. You need other sites to make it online. And it doesnt just go one way. Always keep an open mind to networking with others, its the best way to get your site more viewers. Search for similar websites that offer some things you dont, Write a proposal and send it to them. you can ask them to write an article about your website on their blog with a link and you will do the same. Maybe creating a network exchange where your link is placed on their website (in a viewable spot) and you do the same. Supporting eachother is the only way your going to get anywhere. trying to do it all on your own wont work for you, especially with googles new relative link system. Anyway thats enough for today.. Summary of all is :find out what people want. Do your best to provide that information keep it simple.. if it aint broke dont fix it. Dont get stuck on the seo rollercoaster - cause its addictive and you will have to book yourself in to an seo rehab center that can become costly.. and network, network, network
